Apple Mac Mini Core i5 1.4 (Late 2014)

Compact, Quiet, Well-Connected

The least expensive of Apple’s personal computers, the petite Mac Mini is a powerful and affordable option. Weighing in at under three pounds and standing less than an inch and a half tall, its compact size makes it a perfect choice for those with limited space.

This environmentally friendly desktop computer is an ideal option for a low cost server, home entertainment PC, and can tackle light to medium computing with ease. Apple touts its energy efficiency and advanced power management, as well they should given the Mac Mini’s surprisingly small footprint.

DSC07134With its speedy Intel processor and configurable RAM and hard drive options, the Mac Mini is a wonderful platform for general computing tasks, and can be configured to suit most non-standard needs. While it is not a viable choice for running graphic intensive software, its versatility makes it a practical option for professional and casual users alike.

As with most of Apple’s recent personal computers, the Mac Mini has become an effectively “sealed” design as of 2014, with the RAM soldered onto the motherboard and the chassis tightly secured to ensure it’s never opened. This prevents the user from upgrading the memory after purchase as was common with the previous Mac Mini models.

Compact, quiet, well-connected — the Mac Mini is just enough computer to get the job done.
